5 Tips for how to schedule your tweets With 60% of Twitter content coming from third party applications there is a lot of scheduling of posts happening. So what is so appealing about scheduling tweets when Twitter is meant to be all about connecting and relationships?

When you are using your blog content or website articles to share information, advice and skills it is much easier to schedule ahead the week's content during one afternoon than it is to always be popping over to upload content.

Unlike Facebook, Twitter doesn't penalise businesses for scheduling content, Twitter treats all posts equal. I must admit, this is something I like about Twitter and it encourages me to be more active on it's social media website. For me, Twitter is making it easy for me to share my content and connect with followers who share it, favourite posts and get in conversations with me.

So I check my Twitter Connections more often than I do go to Facebook. I also find it much easier to access the Twitter apps for checking my connections activities than I do with the Facebook apps. As a business owner I want my business systems to be easy and effective.

Twitter is all about sharing and connecting so it's perfectly fine for you to schedule sharing content posts using any one of a range of tools like Hootsuite and Tweetdeck.

Twitter is ideal for sharing your blog posts and bringing traffic to your business blog. As a tweet has a short life of only a few hours you can repeat tweets within 7-10 days at different times of the day and you'll be sharing it with a different audience.

Here are 5 top tips for scheduling Twitter blog story posts:

1. Use a Twitter tool like Hootsuite or Tweetdeck to manage your tweets and schedule ahead. These tools are known as third party tools and are businesses setup separately to Twitter.

2. Have 7-10 days between repeat tweets. Be sure to give your different readers access to different content. By measuring the traffic flow and blog comments on the shared content you'll be able to tell when to take a particular story out of the schedule. Evergreen stories are the easiest to schedule for repeat sharing while time specific news stories have a much shorter life span.

3. Make life easier for yourself with a Twitter Scheduling Plan and a Blog Content Calendar so you know what you're tweeting and when.

4. Set up for daily tweets - you can have 3 tweets a day, 20 tweets a day or a tweet every 5 seconds if you want. Just have consistency as human nature loves consistency.

5. Mix up the types of tweets so they reflect the varying content of your blog.

While scheduled tweets make for an easier life and offers you consistency with activity it is still important that you hop on board with some live tweets and are seen to be active - that you reply to comments and get involved in conversations.
